Hy mausoleum (the mausoleum of King Tran Thuan Tong and King Tran Due Tong)
Hy mausoleum is the mausoleum of King Tran Due Tong, it is said to have been built on Dam Thuy mountain, near Ngoc Thanh restaurant, a famous religious shop built during the Ly and Tran dynasties, a famous scenic spot in the East. In 1399, King Tran Thuan Tong practiced religion at Ngoc Thanh Quan, after being forced by Ho Quy Ly to cede the throne to his son, Prince An. Ho Quy Ly forced King Tran Thuan Tong to become a monk at Ngoc Thanh restaurant, but in reality, he kept the king under house arrest, then ordered someone to force the king to death at Ngoc Thanh. Ngoc Thanh shop later changed to pagoda, Ngoc Thanh shop.
At the beginning of the Le Dynasty (XV century), Ngoc Thanh restaurant was still a peaceful place with mountain-like architecture, hidden under the shade of conifers, making the scenery here become more and more deserted.
Hy mausoleum is the memorial mausoleum of King Tran Due Tong. Tran Due Tong is the 9th king of the Tran Dynasty, the nickname is Tran Kinh, the 11th son of King Tran Minh Tong, the younger brother of 3 kings Tran Hien Tong, Tran Du Tong and Tran Nghe Tong. He was born on June 2, Dinh Suu year (1337), in 1372 was abdicated by his brother Tran Nghe Tong, stayed on the throne for 6 years, on January 24, Dinh Ty year (1377) died in battle at Do Ban citadel (Binh Dinh). , aged 41 years.
King Tran Due Tong is a king with a strong character and ambition to revive the country. In 1369, Tran Du Tong died, passing the throne to Duong Nhat Le. Nhat Le became king, but neglecting his work and playing, he planned to change his surname Tran to Duong. Faced with that situation, he and other Tran family members helped Tran Phu (ie King Tran Nghe Tong) perform a coup to overthrow and kill Duong Nhat Le, put Tran Phu on the throne, and restore the Tran Dynasty.
With the ambition to restore the country, right after being abdicated by King Tran Nghe Tong, he focused on governing the country, choosing generals to train the army, set exams, get talented people like Dao Su Tich, and at the same time focus on uphold national consciousness, protect fine customs and traditions, and at the same time express a sense of independence and self-reliance. He ordered the army and people not to wear northern clothes, not to imitate the voices of the Champa countries, and to prescribe the designs of boats, vehicles, palanquins, canopy, scepters, staff and clothes. During this time, taking advantage of the weakened Tran dynasty, the Champa army often harassed the southern border of Dai Viet, even the Champa army repeatedly invaded and occupied the capital Thang Long. In order to consolidate independence and protect the integrity of the national territory, in 1377 he personally led the army to conquer Champa, when he attacked the capital Vijaya - Do Ban (Binh Dinh), fell into ambush of the Champa army. He died at Do Ban on January 24, 1377, at the age of 41. The death of King Tran Due Tong was a big turning point for the Tran dynasty in the late period, the weak emperor Nghe Tong was completely dependent on him, so when he died, he completely relied on Ho Quy Ly, the Dai Viet country fell. Poorly, the free Champa army raged, ravaging the capital Thang Long. The Tran dynasty's industry has since collapsed.
In 1377, Emperor Tran Nghe Tong saw that he had abandoned himself for the sake of the country, so he summoned his soul to worship in Hy Lang and set up his eldest son, Kien Duc Dai Vuong, to succeed the Tran family, ie Tran Phe De.
On Dam Thuy mountain, in addition to traces of the pagoda - Ngoc Thanh shop on the southwest slope, in the area on the northeast side, there are still many lotus flower carved footstones and many different types of bricks and tiles of the Tran dynasty. These may be the remains of Hyling.
In 2013, Hy Tomb was excavated for archaeological exploration, the results showed that Hy Tomb was not large in scale, built according to the main structure in the middle and in the highest position, surrounded by the main road. the piano and the architecture. Thus, in terms of scale, Hy Tomb belongs to the group of medium size compared to other tombs of the Tran Dynasty in Dong Trieu.
By 2016, the People's Committee of Dong Trieu town in collaboration with the Faculty of History, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Hanoi National University) and the Management Board of Monuments and Scenic Areas of Quang Ninh Province organized Archaeological excavation of Phu Son mausoleum. The organization of archaeological excavations of Phu Son Tomb is the basis to provide sufficient scientific data for the study and assessment of the position and role of the relic in the system of Tran Dynasty relics in Dong Trieu. From there, proceed to set up an investment project to restore, embellish and restore the monument in the coming time.
